The Azkana Trio was formed in 2026, and has quickly become in demand as a touring chamber ensemble. Individually, the Trio members have performed globally, served as educators, curators, and bring a wealth of experience and love of sharing to the stage.

Amadi Azikiwe, violinist, violist and conductor, has been heard in recital in major cities throughout the United States, such as New York, Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Houston, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., including an appearance at the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Azikiwe has also been a guest of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center at the Alice Tully Hall and the Kennedy Center. Abroad, he has performed throughout Israel, Canada, South America, Central America, Nigeria, India, Japan, and Hong Kong.

Cellist Amy Kang is actively involved in a broad spectrum of musical genres. Equally at home in both the concert hall and downtown venues, Amy performs as a classical chamber musician as well as with contemporary Latin American and jazz ensembles. Recent opportunities have brought her to Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center, as well as other notable stages in Argentina, Japan, Panama, Poland, and South Korea. Amy graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in English Literature. She is also a visual artist and studied painting at the L’Ecole Marchutz in Aix-en-Provence. Her current project involves transcribing the Bach Cello Suites into a series of paintings through a system of color-pitch correlation.

Jasmine Nagano, originally from Maui, has served as a staff collaborative pianist at Interlochen Arts Camp and Castleman Quartet Program. Jasmine received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Northwestern University Bienen School of Music and Master of Music in Keyboard Collaborative Arts from University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.

This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts with additional support from Klock Kingston Foundation, the De Sole Family Foundation and Alexander Platt
