In 2016, Kitt Potter was appointed as Maverick Concerts’ first-ever Executive Director to lead the organization’s administrative and operational evolution into its second century. Kitt has since expanded the organization’s marketing reach to a broader, more diverse demographic, developed a new website, launched a corporate partnership program, expanded the vision and base of Maverick volunteers, and has partnered with area colleges to establish Maverick’s first-ever comprehensive, Collegiate Internship program.

Kitt Potter brings to Maverick over 20 years of experience in research, strategic planning, resource and program development, media relations and event planning. With the ability to inspire diverse communities to work together, she has played a lead role in obtaining major grants and sponsorships on behalf of education, business and government institutions and community, youth and arts-based organizations in the Hudson Valley and beyond. Kitt significantly increased municipal and private funding support by establishing the famed Colour of Music Festival in Charleston, SC as a “creative industry” which provides direct economic benefits to the region. As Interim Executive Director of ArtSpace Herndon she developed innovative children’s visual and performing arts programming and produced standing room only concerts featuring world class performers representing a broad range of genres, while at the same time doubling the level of general operations funding.

Kitt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Psychology from Howard University and is also a vocal stylist and actor.

A Hudson Valley native, Kitt resides in historic High Falls, NY and proudly serves as a board member of Calling All Poets and on the Woodstock Cultural Alliance.
