The Blues and Beyond, presented by Andy Stack, tells the story of Blues music from slavery to present day through music. Highlighting both historical and musical legacies, this engaging and entertaining program will leave the audience profoundly affected and with a new appreciation of how far we’ve come as a country and how far we still have to go.
Andy Stack is the founder of Buffalo Stack and Buffalo Stack Productions. A graduate of SUNY Purchase (Jazz Studies & Performance), Andy spent the 13 years following his graduation as a multi-instrumentalist & session musician in New York City (aka- school of hard knocks).
Andy’s love of roots American music, Jazz, Folk, Ragtime, Blues, RnB, Rock n Roll, has led to his accumulation of a vast song repertoire and musical vocabulary. A masterful acoustic and electric guitarist as well as a singer; Andy brings to any setting a deep understanding of many styles of music. This summer he will be touring with Yola, opening for Mavis Staples.
